Joining Eskwela is currently by invite only. You may request for an invitation at Eskwela.com. After giving the necessary information, you should receive an invitation from one of the team members.

I've received the invitation and tried to sign up but my school isn't listed.

You may request that your school/college/course be added by sending an email to u.missing@eskwela.com.

I'm still a high school student. Can I join Eskwela?

Unfortunately, having a college or university is a requirement for you to join. This might change soon, probably sooner than we all think. :)

Of course, there's nothing stopping you from choosing a college anyway, right? Well, then again there's the 8th Commandment (Roman Catholic). ;)

Can I add multiple schools?

How do I delete my account?

As of this writing, this feature hasn't been released yet. I'm guessing it will be available within the day.

Privacy

Is my Eskwela profile viewable by other people?

Others meaning people who don't use Eskwela? Aside from the info given in your Eskwela ID, no. People need to register to be able to see your profile in Eskwela.

Are you guys planning on adding more privacy options to Eskwela?

Site Issues

Why doesn't X work on browser Y?

Eskwela contains javascript to make it more usable (or at least, that's the purpose why we do it). Sometimes, some functions don't work as intended on other browsers.

We're a pretty small team and as much as we want to support all browsers, it's a relatively difficult thing to do. We try to focus on making Eskwela run correctly on IE and Firefox (most recent versions at the very least). We only try to work on supporting other browsers when we have spare time.

So if you find that something isn't working on your preferred browser, we would appreciate it if you would report it on our forum.

Is there a way for me to access profiles instead of using the long URL?

Yup! Try my profile.

What are these Eskwela Widgets?

They are snippets that you can paste into your own web pages. You can find them at Eskwela Labs. The ones published in Labs aren't the only ones available. There are some more widgets that are already being used but haven't been announced yet.

You can always check Eskwela Labs for upcoming features that we make available to the public while they're still being developed.

Feature Requests

Will you make an Eskwela Chat feature?

We can never really say for sure but I doubt it. Of course, you can always join the #eskwela chatroom on IRC.

Fire up your IRC client (mIRC is the popular one on Windows, several other clients exist for other platforms) and connect to the irc.freenode.net server. Once you're connected, join the #eskwela channel.

Will you make a Blog feature?

There are already a lot of free and better blogging services to choose from. It would be better for everyone to just use these existing services. :)

Is it really 100% Pinoy?

Well, that depends. If you're the type who likes to nitpick, then the answer is no. Please stop bugging us. Otherwise, read on.

We, the creators of Eskwela, are Filipinos. We made the site for Filipinos. We hope that Filipinos find Eskwela useful. That, IMHO, is the reason for the 100% Pinoy label.

What have you guys been smoking? How'd you come up with the idea?

Terence Pua, along with a couple of co-founders (whose names I won't mention here for now), came up with the idea.

I see, so he (they) made Eskwela.com?

While everyone in the team has contributed a lot to the development of Eskwela, the developer responsible for most of what you see is LJ ~~Delgado~~ Regalado.

I have a question. Will you add it to this FAQ?

If it's general enough or it answers a very frequently asked question or is something that everyone should know, sure.
